No one WANTS to go on a diet. I certainly didn't. What's more, I don't ever want to have to go on a diet again!

That's why I decided to make a life-style change in the way I did things.

Over the course of my life, I have gone on several diets. Some were even successful ... temporarily.

For instance, after the birth of my daughter in 1980, I lost 53 lbs in 10 months. Slowly, over the course of the next few years, the weight crept back on. Why? Because I love to eat! I ate fairly healthy foods, but I always ate too much.

GoalsMost importantly, Take Your Time! By that, I mean take time to get yourself organized. What kind of foods do you like? Perhaps you can try some of the simple Recipes in the right sidebar. Make lists. Make a grocery list. Decide on a sensible exercise programme. Take charge of your life, set goals and plot out the path to achieving them. And make sure the goals are do-able; it's better to set small goals and when you achieve them, set more small goals.

I guarantee that if you take a week to plan your course of action to lose weight and get fit, you will be more than ready to begin. You may even be enthusiastic! I know I was.
